Manasota Key and more

You can now find an easy to use map of Manasota Key. While Manasota Key is a small island, it is always good to know where you are going!

The weather this coming weeks look partly cloudy, but beautiful so a trip to the beach would be a great idea.

In local news:

The Englewood Area Fire Control District is celebrating the 25th year of their incorporation. It was a long, hard battle getting a fire department established here in Englewood, an even harder battle building it into the fire control district it is today.

Sixty years ago some locals were of the opinion, “We have always had fires around here and they usually burn themselves out, so why do we need a fire department?”

The Englewood Area Fire Control District is unique because it covers two counties. Starting at the north part of Englewood it goes all the way to Placida, Rotonda and Englewood East covering 83 square miles.

When you are out and about this weekend - don't forget the sun block!
