Free guided walks at Cedar Point ParkSunday, June 1, 2008 10am – 12pm
Location: Cedar Point Environmental Park2300 Placida Road, Englewood
Join Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center staff and volunteers every Saturday and Sunday as they lead visitors through the 115-acre park in search of gopher tortoises, bald eagles and various wildflowers. The leisurely walk takes participants through the pine flatwoods, home to many species of woodpeckers, along a small scrub ridge where gopher tortoise burrows abound, and down to Lemon Bay, part of the protected Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve.

Strange Englewood Beach Fact
Apparently we have our own subspecies of mice - the Chadwick Beach Cotton Mouse - who knew? I suppose this would not really be releveant unless you were really into the study of mice.
